How To: Freeze Fresh Green Beans

I hit the Green Bean Jackpot!!! Que the Bells & Whistles!!

There is a clearance rack in the produce department of the grocery store that I always check for discounted fruits and veggies.

That is where I laid eyes on two massive bags of green beans!!! 5 lbs in each bag, marked down from $10 to $2!!!!!!!! I had to have them!!!

Now, lets get to work!

How To: Freeze Fresh Green Beans.

Trim off both ends of the beans. With such a large amount of beans, this took me awhile.

Once they are all trimmed, its time to go into the hot tub.

Place them into a pot of simmering water for 3-5 minutes.

They will turn a brighter shade of green!

Remove the beans and place them into an ice bath to stop the cooking process.

Drain.

Dry.

And place into freezer bags.

Green Beans are a great side dish, hearty in soups & one of the most classic parts of the holiday dinners!!
